Use an existing shelf that fits when possible. Measure the board itself, including fractions of an inch. If there is no shelf to copy, check the opening and the position of your existing supports.

1. Measure length and depth

Measure the existing shelf from side to side for length and front to back for depth. If there is no shelf to copy, check the cabinet opening, shelf supports and clearance needed for installation.

2. Choose the edges you want finished

Edge banding covers the cut edge. Select the edges that will be visible. On our order form, the front edge follows the length of the shelf.

3. Check your final measurements

Review the complete length and depth, including any fractional additions, the finish, edge-banding selection and quantity. Your shelf is made to the dimensions you order.

What are melamine shelves made of?

Our standard shelves are 3/4-inch particleboard with a melamine surface. Melamine describes the finish; these shelves are not solid wood. Maple and White Oak are wood-look melamine finishes.

Where can I use these shelves?

Use them for indoor cabinet, pantry and closet storage. They are not waterproof and are not recommended for outdoor or high-moisture use.

Which edges should I finish?

Edge banding covers the exposed particleboard along a cut edge. Select the edges that will be visible. The front edge follows the shelf length; review your selection before ordering.

Can I use a shelf without supports?

No. These boards need appropriate cabinet supports or shelf brackets. They are not unsupported floating shelves. Shelf span, load and support placement determine whether additional support is needed.

Where are SHELFIX shelves cut?

SHELFIX shelves are CNC cut to order in our own shop in the USA. Choose a finish, enter your full length and depth, select edge banding and review your configuration before checkout.

What comes in my order?

You receive the number of custom-cut melamine shelf boards you select. Dimensions, finish and edge banding follow your order details. Cabinet, shelf pins, brackets and installation are not included.
